The opening sentence of “A Thinking Man’s Guide to Baseball” is just a single word: “Fear.” The author, Leonard Koppett, refers to a batter’s fear of being hit by a pitch. But all of us, in all walks of life, encounter things that potentially frighten us. Perhaps we feel fear and are paralyzed by it. Or perhaps we overcome it, or even learn to embrace it. Maybe we learn something from it. Maybe it eventually goes away. Or maybe we never feel it at all. Either way, we all have our stories that fit with or defy the label “fearless.” Your friends in the Corner audience want to hear yours. Craft your story, and come ready to tell it. Here’s how.
NOTE–We will be joined by Tara Clancy, from New York. Tara is a Moth GrandSLAM champion, and will close out our night.
(Even if you aren’t ready to tell a story, come be part of the audience. It’s fun. But be aware that some stories may include adult themes and adult language. All potential audience members should use their discretion, especially those who care for young children.)
