Shanna Underwood

image_1366674629722261Shanna Underwood brings her smokey, powerful songs to Guthries for a night of original Americana music and classic country.  Shanna’s songs are tales of lost loves, leaving behind, and coming home again written while spending ten years traveling the US, large parts of Asia, and Mexico, but written with her love of artists such as Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, and just plain old fashioned honky tonk.

She will be joined by Devon Colella, a hugely dynamic cello player from the Boston area.  He plays with several bands around Maine in a wide range of music from rock, to pop, to country, but  with the chops of a trained Berkley professional.  Drew Wyman brings his rock sensibility, but transferred to the stand-up bass.  And a new addition, Ramsey Khudairi, also from the Boston area, will also be joining on mandolin and fiddle.

This music spans the emotions and versatility of Americana music melding blues, country, rock, and a touch of folk into songs that you’ll find familiar even if you’ve never heard them before.
