Poor Howard Stith

Poor Howard Stith of Dover, New Hampshire, has been performing  12-string barrelhouse blues for over 30 years.  Born in Kansas City and raised on a farm in Iowa, Howard emerged on the Minneapolis folk/blues scene in the late 60’s.  His  12-string guitar style proved that Delta blues could be performed at both ends of the Mississippi, and led a fellow performer to tag him with the moniker “Poor Howard”, after the Leadbelly song.  His passion and reverence for the country blues of the 20’s and 30’s is infectious and with his dazzling guitar, heartfelt voice, and seemingly endless supply of ancedotes, puns, and shaggy dog stories he instills a new interest in this roots music wherever he performs.
