Mountain Emergency derived from a weekly jam session at Dave’s house in North Yarmouth, Maine, where various great pickers are in attendance on nearly any given night. The men of M.E. are as one, though, in their love of both traditional and contemporary acoustic music. Their sound is strongly marked by the tight harmonies and creative instrumentations characteristic of bluegrass, but their eclectic tastes tend to lead them down various musical paths. Their setlists include favorites by Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs, songs by some of the hottest bands on the festival circuit, and original compositions, too.
