Luna Madidus is a modern jazz ensemble performing in the Mid-Coast region of Maine.  They perform mostly original compositions and a few select standards of the modern jazz repertoire.  As well as their own unique arrangements of music spanning from 19th century German art song to the music of David Bowie.  For this evening’s performance, Luna Madidus will present the premiere of “Jazz Quintet, Bad End Met”, a work based on “The Gashlycrumb Tinies” by Edward Gorey, which was used with permission of the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust. Luna Madidus includes Jason Dean on drums, Mike Whitehead on trumpet, Doug Kennedy on bass, Kristen Birkholder vocals, and Tom Luther on piano.  Luna Madidus can be found on Facebook and at lunamadidus.com
