Over the past 15 years Denise Dill has performed nearly 1,000 shows across the U.S. and Canada and released 9 full length albums. Committed to making music with integrity Dill is independent and motivated to create fiery sounds with local ingredients by her own hands. A multi-instrumentalist, ranging from solo acoustic to looping folk to full band, Denise is a genre shapeshifter and a gender bender. Whether the vehicle of the song is guitar, uke, banjo, sax, or piano, Dill’s songwriting is “[…] so strong you can taste it. It is sweet, spicy, savory, organic, homegrown, lots of twists, sometimes complex, sometimes so simple, and oh so very delicious! Their albums makes you want to sit in a rocking chair on a front porch in the fall while eating peach salsa, or wander out deep in the woods without knowing were you’ll end up,” says artist and friend Margaret Belton of San Franscisco, CA.
Denise is releasing her latest album, Heavy Joi, on April 5th at Guthries located at 115 Middle Street in Lewiston, ME. This is the 10th full length album to her credit and it features Greg and Jessie Boardman on string as well as many others. Come out and support local music! The new album, unavailable to wider audiences, will be premiered and available at a reduced a price for the night only. Hope to see you there.
