Even though we live in a world of actuality, it is often easy to imagine what almost was, but didn’t come to be.  “There, but for the grace of God, go I.”  “That was a close one.”  “If only I had spoken up.”  “Why couldn’t I keep my big mouth shut?”  We say such things when we compare where we actually are to where we came so close to being.  Think of all your stories about things that came so close to turning out differently, and come tell us one at this installment of The Corner.  Will you tell your story?
