The Corner

-

The CornerBuilt in the style of The Moth and animated by the spirit of NPR’s Snap Judgment, The Corner brings open mic storytelling to Lewiston/Auburn.  Unlike a lot of other open mic events, this one is not about folktales or singing or poetry or fiction.  Instead, it’s about honest stories from one’s life.  Each time this event happens, a group of people (a mix of area residents and visitors) will tell true, five-minute stories from their lives, all organized around a common theme.  About half will have been selected ahead of time by the event organizers.  The other half will be determined by a random draw that night.  So if you have a story to tell, you can toss your name in the hat, and you might be invited to tell.  No matter what, you can be in the audience to enjoy others’ stories.  For the first night, the theme is “Firsts.”  For more information, including the details on format and rules, go to http://www.cometothecorner.com/#!events/c9a0

(Please be aware that some stories may include adult themes and adult language.  All potential audience members should use their discretion, especially those who care for young children.)
