Phat Grass  is Maine’s newest up and coming band within the the New England bluegrass community. But, for many fans that faithfully follow the Maine bluegrass scene, the members of Phat Grass are easily recognizable once you see them on stage. Each member brings to Phat Grass many years of experience with Maine based bands who individually and collectively  have graced bluegrass stages throughout New England and beyond. And, once you hear them, you will see why these members joined together. Individually and as a collective Phat Grass is a band rich in traditionally rooted bluegrass while also decidedly explosive with regard to what might be referred to as the progressive side of the bluegrass genre.

Phat Grass instrumentation is strong, straight forward and magnetic. Vocally, the harmonic mix of Phat Grass is captivating and will have you swaying to the music. That is, after all, the band’s goal. Phat Grass is all about audience attention and performing at an optimum level. Hence the reason for choosing the word “Phat” as the lead in for the band’s name.
