(Lewiston, ME) Dill is a co-op livin’, garden diggin’, homegrown cookin’ fool who creates soups of song out of local ingredients. If his music smelled like somethin’ it would be sourdough bread. If it tasted like somethin’ it would be homebrew, if it personified something it would be gender queer, and if it looked like somethin’ it would be a collage. A collage of landscapes, people, and metaphors that resonate as earthy folk with a queer twist. Dill’s been at this since she was 15 and has toured around the country and Canada for the past thirteen years. He has performed with such artists as Dave End, The Gossip, Girlyman, Pamela Means, Hamell on Trial, Alix Olson, Arborea, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, Big Blood, and many more wonderful local artists who are not house hold names, but should be. The folksinger’s lastest album, “City Cemeteries” is his 8th full length release, all of which have been self-recorded. Whether the vehicle of the song is guitar, uke, banjo, sax, or piano, Dill’s songwriting is “[…] so strong you can taste it. It is sweet, spicy, savory, organic, homegrown, lots of twists, sometimes complex, sometimes so simple, and oh so very delicious! This album makes you want to sit in a rocking chair on a front pourch in the fall while eating peach salsa, or wander out deep in the woods without knowing were you’ll end up,” says artist and friend Margaret Belton of San Franscisco, CA.
